Job description
Position Overview: As a Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in assessing and addressing the social and emotional needs of individuals and families. This position requires a strong commitment to advocacy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment and Intervention:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals and families to identify social, emotional, and environmental factors affecting well-being.
- Develop and implement intervention plans to address identified needs and promote positive outcomes.
Counseling and Support:
- Provide individual and group counseling to clients facing various challenges, such as mental health issues, family conflicts, and life transitions.
- Offer emotional support, coping strategies, and resources to enhance clients' overall well-being.
Advocacy:
- Advocate for clients' rights and access to resources, ensuring they receive the support and services needed for optimal quality of life.
- Collaborate with external agencies, government entities, and community organizations to advocate for systemic change and social justice.
Case Management:
- Develop and maintain case records, documenting assessments, interventions, and progress.
- Coordinate and monitor the delivery of services to clients, collaborating with other professionals as needed.
Community Outreach:
- Engage in community outreach activities to identify individuals in need of social services.
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners to enhance support networks.
Crisis Intervention:
- Respond to crisis situations, providing immediate support and intervention to individuals and families in distress.
- Collaborate with emergency services and other agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of clients.
Education and Prevention:
- Conduct educational workshops and training sessions on social and mental health issues.
- Develop and implement prevention programs to address the root causes of social challenges.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Social Work or a related field.
- State licensure or certification as a Social Worker.
- 1+ years of experience in social work, with a focus on direct client services.
- Strong knowledge of social work principles, ethics, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
