University of Iowa

Location

Iowa City, IA | United States

Job description

There is an open Postdoctoral Scholar position for a creative, enthusiastic and highly motivated individual in the laboratory of Kumar Narayanan () at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, Iowa City, IA. We have a track record of innovative human neurophysiology.

This individual will collaborate extensively with Prof. Soura Dasgupta in Electrical and Computer Engineering and Prof. Ergun Uc (MD) in Neurology. Because we can correlate data from these diverse techniques with multimodal clinical and imaging methods to work in intraoperative human and rodent neurophysiology, this work will uniquely matter to patients with Parkinson's disease.

Mastery of MATLAB, R, or Python is required. Expertise in signal processing is also required. The candidate must have at least one first author publication.

Interested candidates should submit their Curriculum Vitae , and a cover letter with one paragraph describing past work, as well as one paragraph describing what project they are interested in the Narayanan lab. Please include complete contact information for at least three references.

The Narayanan laboratory is in the Iowa Neuroscience Institute and the Department of Neurology at the University of Iowa and located within the Pappajohn Biodiscovery Building. Dr. Narayanan and the Iowa Neuroscience institute are committed to the development of trainees.
