Load Research Specialist
Work Location : Butte, MT; Sioux Falls or Huron, SD
Starting pay range : $24.00 to $30.00 per hour DOE

About this position:
The Load Research Specialist processes energy and demand data for nearly 500 interval metered sites in South Dakota including large customers, generators, and substations, using the MV90 system and related systems. The Specialist validates and processes meter data for large customer billing, generates and delivers meter data reports, and communicates with field personnel in changing, testing, and troubleshooting metering equipment.

About this job:
- Responsible for the timely and accurate acquisition, analysis, validation, and reporting of usage and demand data to the billing department for billing of large customers for several billing cycles throughout the month
- Maintain and update electric metering specifics and customer information in various databases
- Work with electric meter shop and field personnel to verify that meter installations and communications work properly, and assist in troubleshooting when necessary
- Process and deliver meter data reports for South Dakota to internal recipients including accountants and system planners
- Process data requests from internal and external users of interval meter data upon request
- Assist in the technical maintenance of the MV90 system and related databases
- Develop and update procedure documents for required tasks

- Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
- A 4-year degree or related experience is preferred
- Experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access preferred
- Working knowledge of energy data, electric metering, and NorthWestern Energy's billing system preferred
- Ability to work with numbers and possess a keen attention to detail required
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with others for problem resolution required
- Ability to perform routine tasks in a thorough and timely manner
- Excellent customer service skills required
- Work effectively in a team environment
