Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with statutory deadlines in education law cases.
- Stay up-to-date with state and federal education policies to ensure legal compliance.
- Prepare legal documents and pleadings for education law cases.
- Interact and meet with clients to address their legal needs.
- Develop effective legal strategies and provide advice to clients based on their best legal interests.
- Serve as the main point of contact between the firm and clients.
- Advise clients on their legal options for litigation or settlement.
- Prepare clients for hearings and investigations.
- Draft and respond to motions in education law cases.
- Defend clients in disciplinary hearings related to education law.
- Represent clients in Title IX matters.
- Manage cases from the beginning through trial.
Qualifications:
- Graduated from an ABA or California-accredited law school and be admitted to the State Bar of California.
- Must not have a discipline record with any State Bar.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in State and/ or Federal Education Law.
- Must be an effective and clear communicator.
- Should efficiently track and meet minimum billable requirements.
- Must have a strong belief in teamwork and a desire to contribute to the team's success in meeting its mission.
- Should have a desire to help others with compassion and understanding.
- You must be confident, independent, decisive, and take responsibility for your actions.
- Should be a strategic, big-picture thinker who can also execute.
