Job description

Summary:

This position is for a Physician specializing in Pulmonary Critical Care. Candidates must be either Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pulmonary Disease, with plans to test if not already certified. Additionally, Board Certification or eligibility in Critical Care Medicine is required. Completion of a fellowship in Pulmonary Disease/Critical Care Medicine prior to start is necessary, and new graduates are accepted. An Iowa (IA) medical license is required, or candidates must be willing to obtain one. ACLS certification is also required. Preferred qualifications include experience in various pulmonary and critical care conditions and procedures.

Requirements:

1. Board Certification or Board Eligibility - Pulmonary Disease:

   • Candidates must be either Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pulmonary Disease, with plans to test if not already certified.

2. Board Certification or Board Eligibility - Critical Care Medicine:

   • Candidates must be either Board Certified or Board Eligible in Critical Care Medicine, with plans to test if not already certified. This is a mandatory requirement.

3. Completion of Pulmonary Disease/Critical Care Medicine Fellowship:

   • Successful completion of a fellowship in Pulmonary Disease/Critical Care Medicine prior to the start date is required. New graduates are accepted.

4. Iowa (IA) Medical License:

   • Possession of an active and unrestricted medical license to practice in Iowa (IA) is required. Candidates must hold a license, or they must be willing to obtain one.

5. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification - REQUIRED:

   • Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is mandatory.

6. Experience with Various Conditions/Procedures:

   • Preference for candidates with experience in the following conditions and procedures:
     • ETT/NT/Tracheostomy
     • BiPAP/CPAP
     • Central Line
     • Arterial Line
     • PA Catheter
     • Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)
     • Insertion/Management of Sengstaken/Blakemore Tube
     • Thoracentesis
     • Paracentesis
     • Chest Tube Insertion
     • Bronchoscopy
     • Bronchoscopy w/ Bronchial Alveolar Lavage (BAL)
     • Evaluation and Management of Acute Volume/BP Issues
     • Pulmonary Function Testing
     • Pulmonary Rehabilitation
     • Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing
     • Bronchoprovocation Testing
     • Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS)
     • Interstitial and Granulomatous Lung Disease
     • Treatment and Management of Asthma, Bronchiolitis, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Interstitial Lung Disease, Pulmonary Fibrosis, Pneumonia, Sarcoidosis, Pulmonary Nodules, Pulmonary Vascular Disease

This role requires a qualified Physician specializing in Pulmonary Critical Care. Candidates must meet the specified board certification requirements, hold or be eligible for an Iowa medical license, and possess ACLS certification. Experience in various pulmonary and critical care conditions and procedures is preferred.
