The Global Portfolio Management and Transactions group is aptly named, because that is exactly what we do – manage Disney’s Global Real Estate portfolio. This gives us a unique position in The Walt Disney Company, as we are the only group that touches every corner of the enterprise. Transaction Management is involved at the genesis of an idea, and the diversity of our portfolio is truly staggering: We have properties in 45 countries, and our projects can range from a new Regional office campus development to sourcing a rooftop for a camera antenna. As a Senior Manager , you would help forge The Walt Disney Company’s real estate strategy for both new and existing properties. Be A Part Of The Story!
Every day is unique as Senior Manager, and depending on the day you will…
- Develop, support and lead complex space planning and occupancy strategies across the portfolio
- Guide and handle transactional brokers on various transactions whether it be a new production space in London to warehouse space in Shanghai;
- Finalize leases with legal departments and submit to Lease Administration;
- Develop strategies to formulate decision trees on critical dates, and evaluate the pros-and-cons of items such as early termination notices;
- Collaborate with delivery teams in different regions round the world to assemble and reconcile all information to explain business decisions, and ensure that portfolio strategies and business objectives are aligned;
- Analyze the merits of decisions (owned vs. leased, or rural vs. urban) to meet the needs of a Business Unit such as Lucasfilm or ESPN;
- Ongoing, effective communication with various stakeholders, internal/external partners
- Assist in developing opportunities for various business units (i.e. ESPN, Marvel, Disneyland) to identify and prioritize opportunities to improve their portfolios, and assemble plans for future development;
- Manage Business Unit projects, using the contributions of both internal and external partners to solve complex problems and create executable real estate strategies;
- Develop & maintain Business Unit (BU) relationships to assist as a point of contact for CRE and help develop real estate strategy and requirements
- Outline and present market data/intelligence and the status of ongoing acquisitions/dispositions transactions in a format that can be easily understood by non-real estate experts;
- Benchmark key initiatives against corporate standards, industry best-practices and similar projects in other Business Units;
- Assist the Portfolio Management team with providing planning assumptions for annual/long-term budgets and for reporting requirements such as 10K report, and 5-year Plans;
- Research land and space options in North and South America, Europe, Asia and Australia/Pacific for projects that range soundstages and film studios, to satellite antenna farms, to urban office space;
- Interact with Portfolio Management team to develop external benchmarking efforts to establish performance metrics and organizational performance targets.
Here is what you will need to have to be successful in the role…
- +9 years of relevant experience, including transaction management, brokerage, strategy development and/or client services; experience gained from work in finance and/or corporate real estate
- Strong problem-solving skills and real attention to detail;
- Excellent communications skills, including effective in-person presentation skills and ability to write concise, cogent documents that are accurate and professional
- Finesse, tact and understanding of corporate politics to be able to say “no”
- Create accurate, visually attractive, compelling presentations for an executive audience.

- Bachelor’s degree in any field of study
It would be a plus, if you had these skills…
- Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite
- Ability to analyze and make recommendations on multi-variable, nuanced issues such as business needs, long-term space planning, and macro market trends;
- Balance the strategic and tactical elements of transactions;
- Work comfortably on both large and smaller-scale initiatives;
- Understanding, tracking and managing data
- Ability to accurately understand and clearly outline Business Unit requirements
- Polish and poise to interact comfortably with senior executives from around the world, and represent The Walt Disney Company as a front-of-house executive.

The hiring range for this position in California is $135,000.00 - $181,060.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
