Come join the team at the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association (KCMBA) as their Manager of Development. We are seeking an energetic, driven, and experienced Development Manager to join our team supporting the dual missions of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association (KCMBA) (a 501(c)(6) membership association) and Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Foundation (KCMBF) (a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation). In this role, the successful candidate will enjoy leading outreach and revenue generation building on our great reputation in the national legal community and significant charitable contributions in the Kansas City metropolitan area.
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:
Relationship building skills with various communities and levels.
Experience researching, applying for, writing, reporting and expense tracking for grants.
Experience working with volunteers to support fundraising for the Foundation including live and silent auctions and other activities and events.
Experience managing advertising, proofing, and facilitating payments for congratulatory advertisements.
Experience designing and managing sponsorships and ensuring that commitments are met.
Experience managing budgets, 990 reporting
REQUIREMENTS:
Verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Understanding of the legal industry and association development activities are preferred.
Experience managing budgets, sponsorships, and advertising.
Organizational skills and attention to detail.
Planning, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
ABOUT THE WORK: You will report to the Director of Operations and be a significant contributor to the success of the KCMBA and its foundation, Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Foundation (KCMBF). KCMBA offers a full and robust benefit plan including generous holidays and PTO, Health (Medical, Dental and Vision) plans, paid parental leave, 401K match, profit sharing and even a bonus potential.
Salary for this role starts at $50,000 annually. Your salary may vary based on your experience. Offers are contingent upon a background and credit check.
ABOUT KCMBA: KCMBA is the largest and oldest bar association in the Kansas City area. Founded in 1884, KCMBA leverages its rich tradition as a platform to provide current, innovative, and relevant service to its 5,000 members in its nine-county service territory in Missouri and Kansas. KCMBA’s membership includes attorney, judicial, and law student members who make up the core of the Kansas City legal community. This active, voluntary association regularly hosts continuing legal education programs and social events, plans and presents community outreach and pro bono activities, produces the only Directory of the Greater Kansas City Legal Community, as well as a full-color, award-winning monthly magazine the KC Counselor, and much more. KCMBF proudly operates three original community service programs, Military Matters (providing pro bono legal representation for veterans and active duty military), Student Law Academy (providing a paid summer internships and a pipeline to a legal career for students in local underserved high schools), and the Domestic Violence Alliance (providing a platform for interdisciplinary education and collaboration to solve the problems associated with domestic violence).
