Summary
Paid Internship - The Montessori School of Mount Pleasant is seeking a teaching intern to join our Zero-Three teaching community. Interns are guided by experienced Mentor Master Teachers as they discover Dr. Maria Montessori's individualized approach to early childhood education. After the three month internship, teachers are eligible to join the faculty and begin their pathway to formalized certification sponsored by the school. Candidates must demonstrate a love of learning, collaborative attitude, and longterm growth potential to take on future leadership with the organization.
Duties - Maintain the safety, care, and well-being of children infancy through six years
- Environment preparation and sanitation under DSS guidelines
- Written and Oral communication with parents, co-teachers, and administration
- Adhere to SC state training requirements
- Light food prep and cleaning for a small group of children
Requirements - High School Diploma or GED required
- Pass South Carolina SLED and background check
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Good mental and physical health
Nice To Haves - Undergraduate degree in the field of education, sociology, psychology, religious studies or health related fields
- Infant/Child CPR certification
- Experience working with young children
- Consistent work history
- Desire to pursue education and studies in human development
