Senior Data Science Developer

Location: Annapolis Junction, MD (HYBRID)

Integral Federal is looking to hire a Data Science Engineer to support the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Performance Engineering Analytics (PEA) program. The PEA program will support TSA as they continue to look for ways to enhance its layered approach to security through new state-of-the-art technologies, expanded use of existing and proven technologies, improved passenger identification techniques, and other developments that will continue to strengthen anti-terrorism capabilities.

• Develop software, tools, and models using a variety of programming languages such as Python, R, Java, SQL, and Scala.
• Design and update software database. This includes, but is not limited to: Software Applications, Web Sites, Data Communication Processes and User Interfaces.
• Test, maintain and recommend software improvements to ensure strong functionality and optimization.
• Facilitate root cause analysis of system issues.
• Identify ideas to improve system performance and impact availability.
• Development of technical specifications and plans.
• Make good technical decisions that provide solutions to business challenges.
• Compile timely, comprehensive and accurate documentation and or reports as requested.
• Develop creative solutions to data limitations, such as regular purging of Personally Identifiable Information (PII), while maintaining the ability to perform frequency analyses, models, trends, etc.
• Design and implement solutions to “big data” problems using both classical and innovative techniques such as parallel processing, NoSQL, graph theory, and clustering.

Required:

• 10+ years experience
• Development experience, with a focus on data manipulation and/or statistics, using one or more of these languages: Python, R, Java
• Ability to learn new languages and technologies
• Excellent communication skills
• Resourcefulness and troubleshooting aptitude
• Attention to detail
• Familiarity with Agile (SAFe/Scrum) development methodologies
• Experience with software design and development
• Knowledge of coding languages (e.g. C++, Java, JavaScript) and frameworks/systems (e.g. AngularJS, Git)
• Experience with databases and Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks (e.g. Hibernate)

Preferred:

• Experience with TSA systems and environment
