SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Research & Evaluation Associate will work as a collaborative member of the Research & Evaluation Department to conduct research and evaluation studies on the educational and visitor services programs of the Museum of Science and its collaborative projects. This will include planning studies, developing and piloting instruments, overseeing data collection, analyzing data, and reporting, under the direction of the Manager of Research & Evaluation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Work on 4-6 research/evaluation projects (except when they are very large)
* Oversee the work of 1-4 junior Research & Evaluation staff who are involved with the project
WORK SCHEDULE:
This position is grant-funded, full-time, 40 hours/week. Weekends may be required as needed.
REPORTS TO:
Director, Research & Evaluation
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Three (3) or more years of Education and/or experience in social science research or evaluation experience.
* Bachelor of Science or Arts and additional course work.
* Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods and analytical skills
* Demonstrated understanding of the conceptual and theoretical issues that underlie research and evaluation, particularly in education
* Demonstrated communication skills, both verbal and written
* Demonstrated project management skills
STARTING SALARY:
Exempt (Salaried). $45,000-48,000/year.
