POSITION SUMMARY
The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (AME) is tasked with driving Tecomet’s “better, faster, lower cost” vision by leveraging manufacturing expertise, technology, and lean principles to enhance operational performance globally. As a core leader in the AME team, they will develop and implement advanced manufacturing practices, particularly in automation and robotics, across all divisions and supply chain. The role involves collaborating with various stakeholders and customers to integrate best practices and drive transformative change in manufacturing engineering and technology, addressing critical business challenges.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED
B.S in Engineering, or another technical field (Mechanical or Manufacturing related preferred)
8+ years of successful experience in engineering roles within precision machining/subtractive environments and a proven record of sustainable results.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Expert in precision machining and subtractive equipment processes. Including, CNC machining, automation, finishing and lights-out operations
Proficient in new product and process development, validation and problem-solving
Strong foundation in manufacturing engineering fundamentals (engineering drawing, tool and fixture design, GD&T) lean principles and industrial engineering
Skilled in project planning and management for large-scale projects
Familiarity with CAD and CAM systems
Excellent communication skills
Effective coaching, facilitation and organizational abilities
Systems thinker with a lean and strategic mindset
Goal-oriented and self-directed, consistently meeting deadlines
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION PREFERRED
Project Management certification preferred
MS degree in engineering and/or MBA a plus
Supervisory or management experience strongly preferred.
