Opening: Medical Billing Supervisor
Anchorage, AK
Position Summary
As a natural leader who is goal-oriented, revenue-driven, highly accurate and motivated, the Medical Billing Supervisor will hold responsibility for the overall success of a subset of our billing team members in a variety of client specialties.
Functions and Duties
- Implement process improvements effectively.
- Complete new hire onboarding and training.
- Upskill existing team members continuously.
- Assist in preparing and delivering performance evaluations.
- Relay knowledge and communicate successfully.
- Monitor, audit, approve, and provide feedback in a constructive manner.
- Assign tasks based on team member capabilities maintaining coverage at all times.
- Help ensure team member claims are submitted with a goal of zero errors.
- Lead the team to reach productivity and accuracy goals.
- Duties may also include overseeing and correcting: data entry of patient demographic, guarantor and insurance information, posting charges and insurance/patient payments, balance to daily deposits, follow up on claims.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Thorough knowledge of the revenue cycle process.
- Familiarity with entering patient demographics, posting charges, payments and denials as well as working insurance accounts receivables to optimize cash flow and to meet organizational financial goals and objectives.
- Anticipate and document trends, collaborating with ABS management, and communicating with clients and staff to facilitate process improvements.
- Professional communication with the ability to provide constructive coachlike feedback to others in a way that inspires teamwork and results.
- Critical thinking skills and is resourceful, seeking answers prior to asking for assistance, analyzing situations, and is capable of making decisions.
- Knowledge of Gsuite products and Medical Billing software. *Allscripts, and multiple EHRs are a plus.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands successfully knowing when appropriate to delegate.
- Can work independently, research and resolve issues, not afraid to answer questions using tools provided.
- Close attention to detail, high accuracy, and stellar organizational skills are a must.
- Desire to be part of a performance driven team taking responsibility for obtaining goals as set by management.
- Maintain extreme confidentiality at all times to include, but not limited to patient, client, and colleague information.
Required Experience
- Education high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience two (2) years in revenue cycle with insurance resolution preferred.
- Experience CPT, ICD-10 coding, and Medical Terminology preferred.
Job Details & Benefits
- Job Location: Anchorage, AK 99518
- Starting Salary: $24-$30 DOE
- Hours/Week: full time position, 40 hours per week, 8:30am 5:00pm*, Monday Friday
