Job Description Summary
The Lifecycle Product Management vision is focused on the following key tenants:
1. Disciplined Strategy – combine domain knowledge and expertise to develop market-backed and customer-validated product strategies for existing and emerging spaces.
2. Strategic Integration – Influence and partner with key internal and external teams to develop, assess and leverage new technologies and developments, integrating these into our strategies and planning processes.
3. Holistic Lifecycle Approach – Lead, cultivate and sharpen product offerings through the entire Product Lifecycle-Strategy from Product Introduction through to Product Retirement.
4. Decisive Alignment – Drive collaboration, alignment and execution across the business lines, regions, and COEs in the Gas Power business to deliver results for our customers and our business financial plans.
Controls is one of the key Product Platforms within the Product Management organization, functionally aligned with the Controls Business Line. With new controls capabilities together with Nexus, this business line will focus on several areas to maximize the value for GE Vernova and enabling strong foundation for growth. Serving Gas Power customers through our New Units, Services, and Aeroderivative business line with continued excellence in new unit installations, and continuously improving controls competitiveness and customer satisfaction throughout our installed base.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
- Understanding customer needs, competitor capabilities, & potential markets for new products & services.
- Clearly articulate actions, projects, and investments necessary to achieve improvements in customer sentiment, quality / reliability, services cycle time, outage and project execution whilst driving for systematic and real improvements in product cost and pricing.
- Setting and leading a quality culture, with focus on high Say / Do ratio.
- Lead the team to develop and execute multi-generational product plans (MGPPs) that cover the needs of the regions and business lines in the Gas Power portfolio at all levels of the product strategy pyramid and further define investments needed to ensure a vital installed base together with planned introductions for technology upgrades and product enhancements when necessary.
- Build and leverage relationships with the business line commercial and sales team to develop go-to-market strategies for new product offerings.
- Manage the product life cycle from concept to retirement.
- Business leadership – driving strategic relationships & quarterbacking efforts across business lines & functions: product management, quality, supply chain, sourcing, operations, engineering, commercial, etc.
- Provide commercial process leadership on key deal/region strategies and ownership for a “playbook” of products & strategies to leverage controls to pull through key new unit and services deal.
- Focus on growth through world class and cost competitive solutions for the other GE Vernova businesses and their associated market segments.
- Expand our support and relationship with each business including Wind, Steam Power, and Solar & Storage Solutions, as well as our emerging engagements with GE Hitachi and Hydro.
- Partner with the business line to transform our business model to include a strong life-cycle services component that augments our upgrade projects capability and establishes us as a reliable partner for our customers as they manage their on-going operations and maintenance.
- Increased focus on developing high-margin controls software solutions (real-time algorithms like OpFlex) that drive customer outcomes (value) to differentiate our controls systems offerings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business-related discipline, or equivalent knowledge/experience
- Extensive relevant experience in the power generation industry
- Significant experience in a leadership role within a product line, commercial or technical environment
Desired Characteristics
- Comprehensive knowledge of GE Power products, processes, tools, and organizational structure
- Experience with industrial controls hardware and software development as well as digital system and network integration
- Strong external focus, with ability to assess impact of price and performance decisions
- Depth of knowledge on industry leading controls platforms
- Personnel responsibilities including hiring, performance management, & talent development
- Working understanding of business economics
- Proven presentation skills and rapport building with customers
- Effective team building and problem-solving abilities
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including executive level presentation skills

The salary range for this position is $170,000 to $350,000 USD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s geographic location, experience, education, skill set, and work location. This position is also eligible for variable incentive compensation and equity. Benefits include health and additional benefits.
