Job description
Job Summary:
The Senior Software Test Engineer will collaborate closely with the Core Software development team focusing on projects utilizing .NET technologies across Windows and Linux environments. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and resolving issues related to the application and database, ensuring proper system functionality and configuration, and validating performance against specifications. Additionally, the role involves the development, testing, and deployment of software components, as well as participation in efforts to enhance current processes and troubleshoot existing code within Windows and Linux environments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the enhancement and development of automation testing framework and tools.
- Formulate comprehensive test strategies to ensure effective testing coverage.
- Execute test cases and plans for both existing and forthcoming products.
- Provide support for ongoing software programs and processes, including troubleshooting, enhancement requests, and validation of system requirements.
- Utilize .NET framework (C#, RDL.NET, ADO.NET) for software development tasks.
- Troubleshoot and debug .NET service-oriented (SOA) Windows applications using WebAPI frameworks.
- Optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to meet system operational needs and project specifications.
- Create technical design specifications and populate configuration workbooks to capture functional requirements and ensure project alignment.
- Develop unit test and system test scripts for integration into the testing process.
- Maintain support for Production, Development, and QA Environments.
- Analyze Transaction Data Reports and reconcile data inconsistencies.
- Identify, track, and prioritize software defects.
- Provide support for the application in production post-deployment.
- Participate actively in daily scrum meetings and provide updates on team task progress.
Required Qualifications: - Proficiency in the .NET framework (C#, Web API) for designing and deploying customer-specific extensions.
- Expertise in debugging .NET Windows services and applications using Web API.
- Strong command of SQL Server and SQL query development.
- Experience with Performance Testing and Scaling.
- Familiarity with Angular framework.
- Knowledge of build/deployment/unit testing tools.
- Demonstrated teamwork abilities and self-driven initiative.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and phone).
- Experience in both Web and Backend development.
- 10-20 years of experience in SDET or software development roles.
Preferred Qualifications: - Proficiency in debugging/developing front-end applications using the Angular framework.
- Familiarity with Configuration Management tools such as JIRA/SVN/DevOps.
Education:
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
