Job description

The Dermatologist at ELFHCC is responsible for diagnosing, treating, and preventing a wide range of skin conditions in patients of all ages within the underserved community. The position requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure comprehensive and patient-centered care.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Medical degree from an accredited institution.
• Board certification in dermatology.
• Current state medical license.
• Demonstrated experience in diagnosing and treating a variety of dermatologic conditions.
• Effective communication with patients is crucial. A Dermatologist should be able to explain complex medical information understandably.
• Commitment to providing healthcare services to underserved populations.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct thorough consultations with patients to understand their dermatological concerns, medical history, and symptoms.
• Utilize appropriate diagnostic tools and tests to aid in the accurate diagnosis of skin disorders.
• Develop personalized treatment plans based on the diagnosis, considering medical, surgical, and/or cosmetic interventions as needed.
• Prescribe medications, and topical treatments, and provide procedural interventions as necessary.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records, documenting patient assessments, treatments, and follow-up care in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the FQHC, participating in peer reviews and continuous improvement efforts.

CRITICAL SKILLS/ REQUIREMENTS

Physical Demands: Work is performed in a fast-paced office and community setting with local travel required. Physical demands include prolonged sitting/standing and phone use. Lifting and carrying PR equipment and supplies (5-10 lbs.) may be required.

Compensation: Salary commensurate with education and experience.
