FMS Airworthiness Analyst


Overview

SimTech, Inc., named as a 2024 Best Place for Working Parents, is seeking a candidate for an Airworthiness Analyst to join our growing, diverse and dynamic team in Huntsville, AL.



Responsibilities

Provide Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Airworthiness support to AED Special Operations Aircraft Division.



Deliver Independent Technical Evaluation (ITE) to support Foreign Military Sales (FMS) of the MH-47G helicopter to the United Kingdom (UK) to execute the airworthiness certification requirements for the UK.


Provide support to the airworthiness division in support of our government customers, including MH-47 and MH-60.


Supply engineering, analytical, and technical support, including MH-47 and MH-60 to the airworthiness division.


Coordinate all aspects of special operations aircraft airworthiness and coordinate functional review of airworthiness and engineering tasks.



Engage with internal organizations within the Systems Readiness Directorate and multiple external design organizations including foreign government personnel.


Other responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications & Education Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in related field from an accredited institution required.



6+ years of demonstrated experience is required.


Knowledge of and experience with Army Airworthiness Qualifications and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) development processes.


Experience with Independent Technical Evaluation (ITE) airworthiness support in FMS.


Experience with MIL-STD-810, MIL STD 882, DO-160, DO-178B, DEF-STAN-970 and SAE-4754A safety standards.


Demonstrated Army Aviation Systems engineering and safety expertise.


Demonstrated Military Aviation (or Federal Aviation Administration certification) airworthiness qualification expertise.


Knowledge of European Aviation Safety Administration CS-29 requirements.


Knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration Part 27 or 29 requirements.

Knowledge of United Kingdom Regulatory Articles, specifically UK Release to Service governed by RA-1220.


Knowledge of System Safety documentation, i.e., Functional Hazard Assessments, System Safety Hazard Assessments and Fault Tree Analysis. Knowledge of verification methods of compliance for design requirements.


Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail. Proficient in MS Office. Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking.


U.S. Citizenship with Active Secret Security clearance required.


Physical Description

Employees in these positions will function in a standard office/cubical setting using standard office equipment, including a computer, telephone, printers and video equipment; utilize computer software and electronic testing equipment. Will interact in a general office setting with various personnel; participate in meetings and contribute to team success; deliver timely results and produce reports; receive and communicate information; may include telework. May be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization due to business demands; may travel occasionally for assigned work.
