The Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University, we provide dental education to the next generation of professionals by offering hands-on education through innovative research, patient care, and service. Join other dental providers to improve the oral health of Georgia and beyond. The DCG was founded to provide the people of Georgia with quality dental care by educating students in dentistry. As a patient, you have the option to receive treatment in one of our three different practice models consisting of student clinics, resident care, or in the faculty practice. All dental treatments can be completed by the specialists in our facility. We also serve patients in more than 20 clinics across Georgia.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for managing and ensuring all course directors have supplies and materials needed to conduct their pre- clinical courses efficiently, cost effectively, and on time. Accountable for assisting students, faculty, and residents with supplies and instruments for all pre-clinical activity. Responsible and accountable for ensuring compliance of Sim Lab with the electronic inventory control of supplies, equipment, and dental instruments. Must retain and follow-up on charge slips for lost or damaged items. Maintain pre-clinical equipment and conduct minor repairs of equipment. Conduct a monthly student locker check to ensure the return of all college owned instruments and equipment to prevent hoarding of expendable supplies. Create and submit to the Director monthly audit reports of locker checks, student billing, course costs, as well as any additional reports the Director may require. Maintain supplies for simulation lab, Dirty and Wet lab, and all Pre-Clinical courses. Organize and implement all dental boards held at the DCG. Ensure staff conduct daily/weekly cleaning to ensure all associated dispensary areas are kept clean and stocked at all times.

Responsible for directing the daily workflow process for the pre-clinical simulation lab, ensuring all are being served from this dispensary to receive accurate and timely supplies and instruments. Manage the employees assigned to all dispensaries. This includes but is not limited to assisting with recruitment, hiring, orientation and training of assigned staff. Evaluates employee performance and provides guidance and training as needed to ensure employee performance meets established standards. Councils or disciplines employees as needed. Maintains and accounts for all assigned employee time within the OneUSG system. for the pre-clinical simulation lab, ensuring all are being served from this dispensary to receive accurate and timely supplies and instruments. Manage the employees assigned to all dispensaries. This includes but is not limited to assisting with recruitment, hiring, orientation and training of assigned staff. Evaluates employee performance and provides guidance and training as needed to ensure employee performance meets established standards. Councils or disciplines employees as needed. Maintains and accounts for all assigned employee time within the OneUSG system.

Conduct weekly checks of equipment

Conduct weekly checks of equipment housed in the simulation lab, simulation dispensary, wet lab, and dirty lab to ensure they are working properly. Perform minor repairs of equipment as needed. Inventory simulation dispensary supply rooms and order supplies through central supply as needed, being mindful of budget restraints and cost savings. Deliver supplies to and stock pre-clinical supply rooms, maintaining accurate records of usage. Organize and maintain all rooms associated with the simulation lab dispensary for accurate inventory count. Conduct periodic audits of inventory to ensure accuracy. Maintain and submit inspection and repair loas to the Director of Clinical Operations each month.

Comply with rules and regulations regarding the inventory

Comply with rules and regulations regarding the inventory control of supplies, equipment, and dental instruments used for pre-clinical courses. Sustain inventory levels of instruments and supplies stored in the dispensary for the pre-clinical courses. Unpack, store, label, and distribute items as needed. Ensure all broken instruments are sent to ICR and recorded as such within the computer system weekly. Conduct daily scheduled cleaning of walls, floors, counters, and equipment to ensure proper cleanliness of area.

Management of supplies and equipment for pre-doc mock exams

Management of supplies and equipment for pre-doc mock exams multiple times throughout the year. Order, store, and distribute supplies making sure to submit usage reports. Coordinate supplies and equipment for CITA/CRDTS courses. Facilitate pre-doc and dental hygiene student State licensing examination process. Coordinate efforts to ensure sufficient supplies, equipment, and staff are scheduled to work the CITA/CRDTS exams.

Submit weekly as well as monthly reports to the Director

Submit weekly as well as monthly reports to the Director of Clinical Operations, such as but not limited to student billing, repairs and maintenance logs, attendance schedules, inventory usage, locker check report, cleaning log. Maintains the Sim Lab policy and protocol manual in Box.

Responsible for ensuring all course directors have supplies and materials needed to conduct their pre-clinical courses efficiently, cost effectively and on time. Accountable for all on-time ordering for all pre-clinical courses. Ensuring all supplies needed for the success of the courses are ordered and available on time. Work closely with course Directors to ensure no items are left off the syllabus that may be needed.

Responsible for Managing the daily workflow process

Responsible for Managing the daily workflow process for the 5 dispensaries assigned and ensuring all clinics being served from assigned dispensaries receive accurate and timely supplies. Manage and train employees in assigned dispensaries. This will include 1 Dental Dispensary Supervisor and 11 dispensary dental assistants. Guide and encourage staff. Complete evaluations of respective staff. Assist with the implementation of policies and procedures of dispensary unit. Responsible for training, time management, and performance reviews for all 12 employee reports. Report all issues, personnel or otherwise, encountered on a daily basis to the Director of Clinical Operations.

Schedule and prepare the simulation lab and wet labs

Schedule and prepare the simulation lab and wet labs for incoming freshman pre-matriculation courses as well as all CE Courses taking place in the simulation lab. Ensuring all needs are met so there are no delays or omissions and operations run smoothly. Order, Prepare, label, and distribute all freshman tackle boxes and sophomore bags. Conduct a monthly student locker check to ensure the return of all college owned instruments and equipment and to eliminate hoarding of clinical disposable supplies.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university in HealthCare Management or Business Management related discipline with 5 years' dental experience to include supervisory experience OR Completion of a Dental Assistant program with 6 years' experience to include supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications

Bachelor¿s degree from an accredited college or university, extensive knowledge of dental instruments and procedures and 4 years supervisory experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge of the principles of infectious disease transmissions; infection prevention and control. Extensive knowledge of dental instruments, supplies, equipment, and procedures. Computer Skills, excel, word. Knowledge of principles of inventory management.

Pay Grade: 13

Salary: Minimum $16.19/hour - Midpoint $21.12/hour

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
