Job description
AspenTree Animal Care is looking to welcome an Associate DVM to our growing practice. We are a small animal clinic with great roots in the community, serving beautiful southwest Colorado for more than 25 years.
Experience and scheduling:
We’re open to veterinarians of all experience, including new graduates. Those with 2+ years of hands-on clinical experience will be given top priority. We’re looking for an energetic DVM with a great personality and excellent client communication skills. Our next Associate must work well with our existing staff, have a positive attitude, and great work ethic. Top consideration will go to those with a strong interest in surgery and dentistry. Must be licensed (or able to become licensed) in Colorado for consideration.
This is a full-time role comprised of flexible weekday scheduling (10-hour shifts). Currently our regular hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5:30pm. In addition, our team provides rotating ER services with other Durango practices, which works out to once every several weeks. Typically ER shifts are weekly weekday shifts, with a weekend every 6 weeks.
Our current DVM team:
We are a three-doctor team, led by Dr. Becky James who opened AspenTree in 1997. All our doctors are experienced, and they have special interest in nurturing the human-animal bond, ophthalmology, endocrinology, nutrition, dentistry, and preventative care. Outside of work, our team enjoys spending time with their families and pets, hiking, skiing, and taking advantage of the beautiful outdoor adventures that are abundant in southwest Colorado.
