About this position:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Information Assurance Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for safeguarding information systems and data from security breaches and unauthorized access. Th is involves implementing and maintainin g security measures to protect computer systems, networks, and sensitive information .
Salary Range : Compensation is determined by the candidate's expertise and experience.
On a day-to-day basis, you will:
- Conduct regular system assessments to identify vulnerabilities and risks.
- Develop, implement, and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards.
- Respond to and investigate security incidents, including breaches, and implement corrective actions.
- Design and implement network security measures, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs.
- Manage and administer user access controls, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.
- Conduct security awareness training for employees on potential risks and best practices.
- Perform regular security audits to assess the effectiveness of controls and identify areas for improvement.
- Implement encryption technologies to secure data in transit and at rest.
- Maintain documentation related to security policies, procedures, and incident response plans.
- Collaborate with IT teams, management, and stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive and cohesive cybersecurity approach.
Required Education/Qualifications:
- Security Clearance: Top-Secret security clearance, fully adjudicated .
- Education: Associate degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field .
- Tools and Technologies: E xperience with at least one of the following scanners: Nessus, Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP), or SteelCloud ConfigOS
- Experience Levels: Roles classified based on experience levels and proficiency in tools and technology. 0-3 years for Junior roles, 3-6 years for Mid-level, 6+ years for Senior, and 12+ years for Architect roles.
- Skills: Proven experience in cybersecurity or information assurance roles , i n-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies , and f amiliarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards .
- Personal Attributes: Self-driven, customer-focused, Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
- Team Collaboration: Strong communication skills are essential, enabling effective teamwork and project leadership.
- Certifications: Security+ CE and one or more of the following are required : Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).
- Process & Methodology: Experience in Agile and DevSecOps methodologies, and project management.
- Articulation and Execution: Mid-level to Senior roles, ability to clearly articulate ideas is key, fostering successful project execution and enhancing team synergy .
Preferred Qualifications:
- Subject Matter Expertise: Familiarity with Personnel Security is a plus.
- Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) for penetration testing or GIAC certifications.
- Knowledge of Previous experience working with DoD systems, showcasing familiarity with defense-related projects and security requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft products such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Project and SharePoint.
