ROLE SUMMARY
We are currently looking for a Regional Product Specialist to join our Training Department. The Regional Product Specialist (RPS) is a field-based position meant to assist Optos customers and prospects to the advantages of using our ultra wide-field imaging and OCT technology in optometry, ophthalmology, and primary care. The RPS will demonstrate and train on all Optos products and software applications. The RPS will help develop Optos sales force in clinical and technical acumen through field-based coaching and mentoring.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be the expert “specialist” on all devices and software to provide training to doctors and sales personnel.
- Demo and provide training on all Optos products including dye-based trainings (FA/ICG) and OCT.
- Provide virtual training via web-based program to offsite customers.
- Consult with customers on proper workflow and implementation of all Optos devices.
- Provide support at marketing events, national trade shows, Optos sales meetings.
- Consult and provide expertise at validation/DEA sites.
- Provide support to optometry schools, national accounts, and large institutions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) or equivalent relevant job experience
- Self-motivated individual with strong desire to exceed personal and company goals
- Strong team player with flexible attitude to work priorities
- Ability to travel overnight – up to 80% (some weekend travel)
- Ability to create strong customer relationships in the optometric/ophthalmic environment
- Prior experience working in a clinical setting (optometry or ophthalmology) with knowledge of clinical practices, flows and efficiencies
- Proficient knowledge of retinal anatomy and pathology - preferred
- Prior experience performing retinal images on patients to include FA/ICG (fluorescein angiography & indocyanine green angiography) – preferred
- Exceptional communication and training delivery skills to include group presentation skills, providing product solutions and training, and the demonstration of in depth knowledge of ophthalmic industry
- Ability to quickly assimilate complex information in an ever-changing dynamic business environment
- Good computer skills (MS Office applications), basic networking knowledge & ability to perform virtual communication tasks
- Ability to manage expenses, travel arrangements and customer management using online applications
SALARY/BENEFITS
Salary: $95K with elgibility for a 15% incentive bonus. At Optos, we offer a highly competitive benefits package.
