Job description
Join our team at Herker Industries, Inc. as a CNC Mill Setup Machinist on our 2nd shift! In this role, you will be responsible for producing precision machined metal parts using specifically CNC Mills. Hours (4-day Work Week!)
2nd Shift: 3:50pm-3:05am (Mon, Tue, Wed); 3:50pm-10:05pm (Thu)
Responsibilities
- Read and/or complete machine set-up sheet.
- Set-up machine to be used for production.
- Assist with quality control plan details.
- Follow 1st piece inspection procedure.
- Acquire parts to be machined.
- Read blueprint, job order and tooling instructions for production requirements.
- Machine parts to required specifications.
- Inspect machined pieces to verify conformance to specifications.
- Move parts to designated areas.
- Replace worn tooling as needed.
- Remove and return tooling when job is complete.
- Suggest machining methods to improve job efficiency.
- Work within OSHA and ISO standards.
- Follow established safety procedures.
- Perform daily preventative maintenance duties.
- Perform daily housekeeping duties.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- At least 1 year of related experience.
- Experience in a contract machine shop preferred
- Strong understanding of Blueprints and GD&T, milling operations, tooling, programing, setup, and ability to interpret CMM reports to make adjustments accordingly.
- Strong trouble shooting skills to diagnose machining problems.
- Ability to use common inspection gages, micrometer, bore gage, pin gages, thread gage, and optical comparator.
Compensation
Starting pay could be between $22 - $30/hr or more dependent on experience.
