Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
Mettler Toledo is seeking a Data Science Analyst Supply Chain for its Worthington, OH location.
The Data Science Analyst Supply Chain will perform the following duties:
- Data engineering to prepare structured and unstructured data
- Data mining to extract useful information from various data sources
- Apply machine learning tools to select features as well as create and optimize classifiers
- Development of prediction models and systems
- Visualize results in a meaningful manner to ease information retrieval for the user
- Derive patterns by analyzing large amounts of data
- Monitor, analyze & present operational trends and various supply chain performance to develop & suggest strategies to create efficiencies, improve performance and reduce costs
- Champion the use of approved data mining and visualizations tools and standards in GSCM
What You Need to Succeed
Bachelor’s degree in data science or a closely related field, plus 3 years of related experience, which must specifically include:
- Data engineering: Experience in data manipulation and cleaning, including data preprocessing, missing value handling, dealing with outliers, etc.;
- Database management: Experience using SQL as well as working with relational databases to process and extract large data sets.
Required experience must also include 2 years in the following skills:
- Programming: Experience in python programming language, specifically in using pandas and numpy libraries
- Statistical Analysis: Experience applying statistical concepts and techniques, including probability theory, hypothesis testing and regression analysis
- Data Visualization: Experience using common data visualization tools like Tableau, PowerBI, etc. in order to effectively communicate insights through visualization
- Data mining and machine learning: Experience in analyzing large data sets and extracting valuable insights using techniques such as clustering and classification analysis. Predictive modeling using algorithms like linear regression and decision trees
