ANTICIPATED VACANCY 

 

Work at Florida Fish and Wildlife Research Institute is cross-functional, meaning duties may cross division/office lines. The Commission expects employees to function across FWC’s organizational structure by providing their skills and expertise wherever needed through work on teams or as directed.  

This is a highly specialized position responsible for assisting FWRI staff in completing necessary paperwork for the expenditure contract process and forms completion at the FWC/Fish and Wildlife Research Institute, in St. Petersburg.

Minimum Qualifications:

7 years of professional experience in contracts or administrative support position. As associates degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for two years of administrative experience; a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or univeristy can substitute for 4 years of the required experience.

 

Preferred Qualifications:.

Applicants having State of Florida contract experience or working knowledge of State Contract or PUrchasing Management and associated programs such as FACTS, FLAIR, MyFloridaMarketPlace, portal, and MS Office suite software are encouraged to apply and may be given preference.

 

Requirements:

Employment in this position is contingent upon a successful Level 1 background check at no cost to the candidate.

 

Office hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. This position may be eligible for a hybrid of office/telework days after 4 months of employment.

Knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures of contract or purchasing policies and procedures. Ability to work well independently and resolve complex problems using a high degree of business management and team-building skills. Ability to communicate and work with staff effectively. Ability to collect data and prepare reports. Ability to understand and apply state and federal policies, rules, and procedures of contract or purchasing management. Establish and maintain effective professional relationships across all agencies. Skill in the use of personal computers, spreadsheets, and word processing software, State and FWC/FWRI contract management programs.
