Job description

PURPOSE:

The Data Architect will be responsible for defining technical needs, design, construct, and operationalize an enterprise Data Lakehouse and an advanced analytics platform.

CONTRACTOR QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Equivalent work experience may be substituted for the educational requirements at a rate of one year of experience for one year of education.

Five years of experience in Data Administration, Data Warehouse architecture, and the Data Lakehouse development.

Five years of experience in data architecture, modelling, data standardization, and data quality assurance.

Five years of experience with SQL programming inclusive of stored procedures, functions, triggers, Data Transformation Services (DTS) packages, scheduled jobs, and linked servers.

Five years of experience with SQL relational databases, Online Transactional Processing (OLTP), or Decision Support System (DSS).

Five years of experience importing data into a large-scale data warehouse environment utilizing SQL Server Integration Services or Data Import functionality.

Five years of experience optimizing data integration and interoperability.

Five years of experience with MS SQL Server Integration Services.

Five years of experience implementing cloud architecture patterns and cloud platforms like Azure or AWS.

Five years of experience with source control systems such as Azure DevOps.

Five years of experience with integrated development environments (IDEs) like Business Intelligence Development Studio and Visual Studio.

Five years of MS SQL Stored procedures, triggers, scheduling and performance tuning.

Five years of experience working with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, D3.js and R).

CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collaborate with the Project team, committees, and workgroups to design the enterprise data modernization architecture framework that will support manage data ingestion, storage, processing, and integration for internal and external data sets and include strategies to support advanced data analytics and dashboard reporting.

Collaborate with the information technology teams to customize and implement the enterprise Master Person Index (MPI) solution.

Perform data management tasks (such as doing data collection, ensuring high data availability and disaster recover) on a weekly basis.

Produce and submit data reports related to quality improvement or technical assistance visits on a weekly basis.

Each day, maintain current SQL Server integration packages deployed in production.

Each day, maintain and support the Department's Data Lakehouse.

Each day, develop new SQL server integration packages as needed for Extract, Transform and Load (ETL).

Each day, work with the customer's programs and offices to standardize collection and storage of shared data.

Implement SQL Server database standards on the Department's Data Lakehouse databases.

Each day, monitor and optimize the existing Data Exchange Interfaces, including SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), or any other system.

Each day, perform database administration tasks for the databases as per applicable policies and procedures.

Each day, collaborate with developers, management, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders at the enterprise level systems.

Each day, develop relational and dimensional data modeling, for SQL, Cosmo DB, and other NoSQL databases, for the data modernization efforts that align with business requirements.

Each day, assist the customer to develop and establish data governance, master data management, and data architecture principles.

Each day, assist in developing and implementing data standards and policies to ensure data consistency, integrity, and quality.

Each day, develop, design, and implement data intake and optimization.

Each day, develop strategies for data storage, backup, and disaster recovery.

Assist to ensure compliance with data security and privacy.

Actively participate in project status meetings.

Follow IT processes, and coordinate with other IT staff to ensure compliance with standards and guidelines (such as the customer Policies and Procedures).
