Job description

What You Will Be Doing:
- Assist in the updating and issuing of weekly Volume Tracking and Business Development reports
- Complete elaborate and time-sensitive prequalification questionnaires
- Utilize wide format printer & scanner to plot, scan and print plans
- Fill out pre-quals, submit to owners and contractors as requested by department manager
- Performs quantity take-offs of transportation electrical and communications drawings for estimating purposes
- Identify upcoming projects for bidding opportunities
- Deliver bids
- Complete and submit GFE requirements
- Identify sensitive project requirements, treats and opportunities for accurate bidding
- Request and pick-up drawings and RFP packages
- Perform additional assignments as directed by direct Supervisor
- Prepare, package and submit competitive estimates in reasonable times
- Request quotes and direct interaction with subs and suppliers
- Communicate, build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors and clients
Education/Experience Needed:
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering preferred.
- General knowledge of the various disciplines and procedures utilized by the Construction industry is preferred with at least 4 years experience in electrical estimating
LICENSE: Possess a valid class C California driver's license
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe, Excel and knowledge of spreadsheet applications.
- Ability to accurately enter data and perform mathematical calculations.
- Able to adjust priorities on short notice, manage interruptions and work well under pressure.
- Ability to timely meet deadlines and coordinate workloads with Supervisor.
- Effective communication, grammar, letter writing, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Interacts professionally with all company employees and outside persons, such as customers, vendors and professional service providers.
- Mental alertness and good memory is necessary to ensure accurate and thorough completion of work activities.
- Ability to interpret and disseminate complex information appropriate and effectively.
