Job description

Job purpose
Responsible for handling playgroups in a safe and fun manner. Supervising daily operations including but not limited to; reception staff, play groups, staff training, guest care, excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and efficient facility.
Duties and Responsibilities
Guest and Customer Service
- Supervise and complete feedings and medications accurately
- Supervise and complete health checks
- Ensure that playgroup is supervised in a safe and organized manner
- Monitor pets in play group for any inappropriate or unusual behaviors and contact clients as needed
- Interact with dogs in a fun and friendly manner while maintaining pack stability and command
- Maintain notes from daycare and boarding and that any important information is communicated to clients in a timely manner
- Handle all issues on shift including but not limited to; a guest who is out of food or medications, not eating, diarrhea, vomiting, and other behavior concerns by contacting clients and coming up with a solution or plan to correct issues
- Make sure facility is clean and maintained at all times, report any maintenance problems as they present themselves
- Keep accurate client records and invoices in Gingr
- Ensure reservations, vaccines, invoices and client satisfaction is met by reception staff
- Assist Manager in additional projects or tasks as assigned
Staff Management
- Training and supervising of staff, making sure all tasks are completed on time and correctly, and utilizing payroll hours efficiently
- Provide feedback and coaching in performance management of team members
- relay performance or attendance issues as needed to management
Qualifications
Qualifications include:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience working with animals
- Minimum one year of experience in a supervisory or management role
- Team and goal oriented
- Leadership skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Reliable and dependable
- Computer skills – Microsoft Office, Word and Excel
- Must be comfortable handling groups of dogs and maintaining control over the pack
- Must be able to multitask and think on your feet in certain situations
- Attention to details and recalling dog names and information about each dog is a must
Working conditions
Position requires employees to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Filling in last minute for employees who call off is required. Working in all types of weather is a possibility so an employee should be able to withstand the elements. Customer service is very important but occasionally an employee will need to handle difficult clients or situations in a professional manner. Working with dogs can be noisy at times, so employees must be able to tolerate and monitor noise levels.
Physical requirements
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, kneel, crouch, stoop, climb, lift objects and dogs up to 50lbs and do repetitive tasks. For employee safety they must be able to physically handle dogs of all sizes on and off leash.
