Process Engineer - Advanced Polymers

US $100-135000 + Bonus + Benefits

Location: Worcester, Massachusetts - Relocation Assistance available for US Citizens only

Our client is an international manufacturer of advanced polymer materials and is expanding.

They need a Process Engineer who will develop and implement production/processing methods and controls to meet quality standards in the most cost-efficient manner.

The Process Engineer Investigates and resolves work-in-process problems.

The Process Engineer recommends and implements improvements and/or modifications in sequence of operations, equipment utilization, and related matters.

The Process Engineer works with the line supervisors and operators to ensure compliance with approved methods and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

* Work with Chemists and Operations team to implement new or transferred material technology.

* Investigate non-conformances, both internal and external, through root cause analysis and implement appropriate preventive actions.

* Develop processes that adhere to corporate and site safety requirements.

* Analyze equipment and materials in order to improve asset utilization.

* Specify, recommend, purchase, and install new equipment for processes.

* Implement Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement efforts.

* Work with management team to achieve department goals.

* Improve efficiencies through 5S, process mapping, simulation, and other methods of process control.

Requirements:

* BS in Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related discipline

* 5 + years experience in thermoplastics, polymer blend or related technology

* Good understanding of the formulation, material science and equipment involved.

* Ability to work in a diverse team environment.

* Self-directed with interpersonal skills to complete projects on time.

* Expertise with Six Sigma and Lean.

* Ability to work in and support an ISO 9000 environment.
