Job description
LaSalle Network is partnering with a top healthcare provider to hire an experienced Patient Account Specialist. If you have a strong background in medical collections, excellent communication skills and a passion for healthcare, we want to hear from you. This role is onsite in Houston, Texas.
Patient Account Specialist Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive reviews of patient accounts to identify and resolve billing discrepancies
Manage the medical collection process, including contacting patients for outstanding payments and negotiating payment arrangements
Work collaboratively with insurance companies to resolve claim denials, appeals and other reimbursement issues
Ensure accurate and timely submission of claims and follow-up on outstanding claims to optimize reimbursement
Collaborate with other departments, including coding and billing teams, to resolve complex billing issues and improve overall revenue cycle efficiency
Stay current on healthcare regulations, coding changes and insurance policies to ensure compliance and accurate billing practices
Patient Account Specialist Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical collections within a healthcare setting
Strong knowledge of healthcare billing, coding and reimbursement processes
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, insurance representatives and internal teams
Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) and billing systems
Knowledge of relevant healthcare regulations and compliance standards
