Job description
We are actively searching for a highly motivated and experienced commercial construction Drywall Estimator to join our partner's expanding team. This presents an exceptional opportunity for candidates looking to advance their careers in the construction industry.
Responsibilities:
- Generate precise and timely cost estimates for commercial drywall projects
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine project requirements
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to identify project scope and objectives
- Conduct takeoffs and quantity surveys for necessary materials and labor costs
- Obtain and review subcontractor bids and proposals
- Evaluate subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with project requirements
- Develop detailed project budgets and cost reports
- Track project costs and make adjustments as needed
- Stay updated on industry trends and changes in material and labor costs
- Essential Job Functions:
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
- Strong attention to detail and multitasking abilities
- Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Knowledge of construction codes, regulations, and best practices
Skills: - Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
- 4 to 6 years of experience in commercial drywall estimating
- Strong knowledge of drywall systems, materials, and installation methods
- Familiarity with industry software such as On-Screen Takeoff or Planswift
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
- Familiarity with construction contracts and terms
- Strong organizational and time management skills
