Our organization is looking to fill an Payroll Tax Specialist position for a client in Duluth, GA.

Summary of Position:

In collaboration with the HR and Accounting teams, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payroll Specialist with strong knowledge of ADP Workforce Now, particularly from a payroll and tax perspective. This candidate will play a pivotal role in actively leading and optimizing our ADP payroll system, with a specific focus on ADP Smart Compliance. The primary responsibilities include providing expertise in payroll and tax matters and ensuring compliance with tax regulations at both the federal and state levels for a company of 500 employees.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assume a lead role, under the direction of the CPO, in ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax regulations at a national level.
• Utilize payroll, tax, and ADP Workforce Now knowledge to enhance payroll and tax related processes.
• Actively lead and educate the internal HR team on leveraging the capabilities of ADP Smart Compliance for optimal results.
• Research and respond to agency payroll tax notices and inquires.
• Collaborate with tax agencies to address any outstanding tax issues and streamline ongoing compliance.
• Create standard operating procedures as it pertains to payroll processing and tax compliance.
• Act as a subject matter expert for ADP Workforce Now payroll and tax inquiries.
• Provide accurate and timely support with the research and resolution of payroll inquiries, providing superior customer service and developing solutions as needed.
• Support the collection and processing of timesheet data and payroll information for hourly, exempt, and non-exempt employees across several states and multiple pay groups.
• Support timely processing of a semi-monthly and bi-weekly multi-state payroll.
• Support reconciliation and entry of HR and payroll related invoicing.
• Run mandatory and ad hoc reporting.
• Participate in special projects as required.
• All other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Must have recent experience with ADP Workforce Now Smart Compliance and strong knowledge of Local/State taxes.
• Workers Compensation set up within ADP a plus, but not required

Technical:

• ADP WorkForce Now
• Microsoft Office
• Ability to complete accurate data entry and produce accurate and grammatically correct information.

Skills/Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations, with the ability to navigate and resolve compliance issues.
• Excellent time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
• Working knowledge of ADP WorkForce Now Smart Compliance, payroll and accounting principles and practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for communication with internal teams and external system and tax agencies.
• Ability to prioritize and work independently and efficiently.

6 month contract to hire - Potential permanent placement and growth potential

8am - 5pm M-F Hybrid (3 days in office/2 days remote) commutable to Duluth, GA office
