Job Description:

Lead the College of Education Office (COE) of Information Technology (OIIT). Work with the COE administrative team, faculty, and staff to coordinate use and provision of IT services and infrastructure, including the use of services and infrastructure in support of the College’s mission. Tasks may include budgeting, preparing reports, supervising information security and risk management processes, monitoring procedures for securing physical IT assets; developing and reporting the status of Key Performance Indicators; supporting the unique needs of contracts/grants; and creating, updating, and auditing all IT policies and procedures.

The incumbent supervises TEAMS and OPS/student assistants who carry out IT and information security responsibilities. Develop and implement specific IT projects and tasks. Identify and maintain the functionality and security of technology needed for instruction, research, outreach activities, network services, and end-user support. Supervision includes, but not limited to interviewing/hiring, time and labor approval, task completion documentation, and performance evaluations.

Advise on the use of appropriate selection of IT in College research activities and higher education instructional delivery. Monitor trends in technology and backup systems operations. Verify that IT systems comply with information security policies. Facilitate and verify appropriate IIT training and support for faculty, staff, and students. Participate in new faculty and staff onboarding.

Provide oversight and support for endpoint management tools including but not limited to JAMF, SCCM and Intune. Ensure that endpoint security is assured through a policy-based approach requiring endpoint devices to comply with UF Security Policy. As ISM, provide guidance and support through the UF IT Risk Analysis Process to constituents ensuring that requests are reviewed for security, privacy, and alignment with the university’s technology goals. Serve as Building Security Administrator utilizing UF’s Lenel Security System, making sure the building is secured at all times.

Serve on College and University committees to further the interest of IIT and act as the primary liaison between the College and University/UFIT on matters relating to IT as well as other duties assigned.

Expected Salary:

Salary is competitive and commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and eight years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
