The laboratory of Dr. Kartik Chandran () at Einstein seeks a highly motivated individual for a Research Technician position.
We study how enveloped emerging viruses enter their host cells and initiate infection. Our work is interdisciplinary in nature, involving forward and reverse viral genetics, host genetics, biochemistry, cell biology, structural biology, and immunology. Our research spans the gamut from basic to highly translational with strong biotech collaborations. Laboratory members include three research faculty, five postdoctoral fellows, four graduate students, and three research staff.
The successful candidate will work on a project aimed at the development of human antibody-based therapeutics against emerging viral threats and will be responsible for the evaluation and characterization of human antibodies discovered by us and our collaborators. The candidate will be trained and supervised by Research Assistant Professor Dr. Eva Mittler. The candidate will spend a portion of their time (about 30%) working with our laboratory manager and the lab operations team on organization, logistics, and planning.
