Job description
Main Purpose of the Role:
To execute the commercial strategy as defined by the line, broken down to actionable items by countries under the trade scope. To implement competitive tariff relative to market conditions and respond to rate requests and tenders in a timely manner and to ensure that deadlines are accomplished. Knowledgeable in market trends and development in order to provide intelligence and promote new opportunities within the network.
Main Tasks:
- Accurately complete tenders provided by key accounts with best rates to include BAF, Bill of Ladings , etc. ensuring deadlines and cargo awards are achieved as specified for each tender and global requests
- Provide the best transit time for moving cargo
- Execute commercial strategy for each line based on country portfolio and pipeline.
- Liaise with agents regarding market trends to develop and materialize bookings from the commercial pipeline.
- Provide pricing for lines and approve formal quotes with L2A and other platforms.
- Ensure email requests for rates or commercial feedback received from the agencies or clients are responded to within a 24 hours’ time frame.
- Monitor performance versus targets and take-action as required to close gaps.
- Prepare and respond to In-Gauge cargo requests.
- Follow up with agents on rates quoted with agents or customers to know if rates are accepted and bookings secured
- Re-negotiates rates as required so as to secure bookings from customers
- Ensure rates re-negotiated are profitable by reviewing calculations in the ENT system
- Analyze and discuss rates with Line Manager and or Commercial Manager to secure bookings
- Create and distribute tariffs detailing the minimum guidelines and flexibility (where applicable) to include rates to quote offer for FAK or commodities

REQUIREMENTS
- First Degree
- 1-2 years’ experience in pricing positions or equivalent is highly preferred.
- Microsoft Office Suite (Intermediate Level – Excel)
- Very good command of English Language (Reading, Writing, Speaking). Spanish speaking is an advantage.
- No travelling required.
- Shipping Industry experience is a must-have.
