Spiritual care is a component of healing, so meeting others where they are and helping them amid troubled waters is a vital part of the Chaplain’s role. Responsibilities:

• Provides education and consultation for physicians, nurses and other clinical employees.
• Spiritual care and counseling for patients, families and employees.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education:

• Master's degree of Divinity or equivalent preferred.
• Satisfactory completion of a minimum of four (4) units of Clinical Pastoral Education.
• Offset: Bachelor's degree, 3 years of ministry experience & satisfactory completion of one (1) or two (2) units of Clinical Pastoral Education with expectation to get four (4) CPEs within two (2) years of hire.

Certifications:

• Certification as a Board Certified Chaplain () or eligibility for same within two years, or certification as an ACPE Supervisor of Clinical Pastoral Education

Complexity of Work:

• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
• Counseling and support for all faith groups, ages and conditions.
• Crisis and on-going care.
• On-call and regular work hours.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Work Experience:

• 1 year of ministry experience required

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to climb stairs, pull, push and facilitate movement of the patient.
• Must have normal or correctable vision and hearing to be able to hear normal conversations.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
