Job Title: Pharmacy Technician
Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to assist in various pharmacy-related tasks.
Your responsibilities will include: - Assisting pharmacists in dispensing medications to patients accurately and efficiently.
- Compounding medications as directed by pharmacists.
- Labeling and packaging prescriptions in compliance with pharmacy regulations and standards.
- Maintaining inventory levels by ordering and stocking medications and supplies.
- Processing insurance claims and assisting patients with billing inquiries.
- Providing excellent customer service by addressing patient questions and concerns professionally and courteously.
- Performing administrative tasks such as answering phones, maintaining patient records, and managing prescription files.
- Ensuring compliance with all pharmacy laws and regulations, including HIPAA and FDA guidelines.
- Adhering to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborating with pharmacy staff to ensure smooth workflow and optimal patient care.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a pharmacy technician training program or equivalent experience.
- Certification/licensure as a Pharmacy Technician (if required by state regulations).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with pharmacy software systems.
- Knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and standards.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working as a pharmacy technician.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and pharmaceutical calculations.
- Willingness to pursue continuing education and training opportunities in the field of pharmacy.
