We are seeking an enthusiastic Research Associate, Analytical Chemistry to join our growing team in South San Francisco. This full-time onsite position will be responsible for the operation of Vilya’s high throughput analytical and purification capabilities, key activities as we expand our platform technology and advance orally available macrocycles into the clinic.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate analytical laboratory equipment, including HPLC, UPLC-MS, mass-directed prep HPLC and nephelometer
- Analyze and purify samples for routine chemical profiling
- Prepare solvents and reference materials needed for day to day operations
- Provide regular progress updates to the analytical chemistry team
- Effective written communication as required for patent filings, company reports, and scientific publications
- Maintain an accurate and detailed electronic lab notebook
- Adherence to all safety and environmental regulations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS in chemistry with 2+ years relevant experience
- Computer coding experience will be considered a plus
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and perceptive mechanical problem-solving ability
- Prior experience with automated analytical and purification systems will be considered a plus
- Enthusiastic and self-motivated with strong time management and multitasking skills
- Impeccable scientific integrity
- Positive attitude and willingness to do whatever is needed to meet deliverables and advance projects
