Job description
Large Health System in the Pacific Northwest is seeking a board certified or board eligible Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join their established cardiac program. The program includes three (3) heart surgeons, one (1) dedicated thoracic surgeon, and four (4) cardiac Physician Assistants performing over 350 heart procedures and 175 general thoracic cases, annually. This facility offers state-of-the-art operating rooms and Cath lab.

Background/Expertise:
- Graduate from an approved school of medicine
- Completion of an accredited fellowship program in Cardiothoracic Surgery
- Board Certification or eligibility in Thoracic Surgery by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. Applicants who are not Board Certified must be able to demonstrate completion of an ACGME / AOA accredited training program in General Surgery, followed by completion of an ACGME / AOA accredited fellowship training program in General Thoracic and Cardiothoracic Surgery. Applicants must obtain board certification within five (5) years from completion of the applicable Residency and/or Fellowship program
- Current unrestricted M.D. Oregon medical license
- Current unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) number
- At least four (4) years licensed experience
- Demonstrate experience and current competency, to include the performance of at least 100 general thoracic and/or cardiovascular surgical procedures during the past 24 months
- Demonstrate the performance of at least 100 cardiac surgery procedures in the past 24 months
- Documented clinical experience including 100 career AVRs (10 of which are high-risk) or 25 AVRS in 12 months or 50 AVRs in 24 months (including 20 AVRs in year before TAVR)
