This engineer will have experience in designing control systems and programming PLCs to produce coordinated multi-axis motion in a mechanical system which communicates with an IPC (Industrial PC) for various integrated functionality. They will also have experience taking sensor data into the PLC and using that to make decisions (e.g. PLC gets encoder data showing a position and uses that to shift a
motor to a new position). This engineer can also acquire data from sensors and save it.
Requirements Note: Direct robotics or automation experience is a must have.
BS or MS in Robotic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering field.
Minimum of 4 years applicable professional experience in the robotics or automation industry
Skills: Using IPC/PLCs to control multi-axis motion and handling digital and analog IO, preferably with Ethernet/IP or OPC UA.
Selecting, tuning, and integrating motors, drives, sensors, and actuators for automation, robotics, and industrial applications
