Position Summary: Works with A&A partners and Director of Government Contracting Services in planning, implementing and controlling engagements to ensure quality of work on a timely basis.
Position Duties: - Work with government contracting clients of varying size and specialty
- Responsible for managing all phases of an engagement from planning to issuance of financial statements
- Exercise ability to think independently when making decisions related to government contracting focused engagements including assessment of engagement risks, relevance of procedures and evaluating evidence
- Demonstrate necessary skills and knowledge required for tax planning, research and compliance
- Provide technical review of work ensuring product quality meets firm standard
- Promptly bring to the attention of the engagement team any significant findings, complex issues or questions
- Responsible for meeting personal productivity objectives and supervising of those assigned to your engagements
- Eager to begin or continue business development and marketing activities
- Demonstrate commitment to continued learning and growth for both yourself and professional staff
- Ensure work is performed to standard and a level of professionalism is maintained at firm
- Facilitate and participate in "in-house" CPE and training activities
Requirements: - 7+ years of relevant work experience with recent experience in government contracting
- Current CPA license required
- Previous audit experience in public accounting firm required
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Drive to contribute to dynamic collaborate team environment
Job Type: Full-time
Position is located in Norfolk, VA. For those living outside of the local area, remote arrangement will be considered.
