Camp Counselor's (Summer, Winter, Spring & Kid's Club) Suntree Country Club is seeking a positive, energetic, and highly capable childcare professional who has experience with children of all ages. The candidate will perform a variety of tasks in a childcare setting including recreation activities, arts and crafts, sports, games, drama performances, hobbies, and field trips. The Camp Counselor will report to the Assistant Events Director / Events Director/Camp Counselor Manager . SUNTREE COUNTRY CLUB Established in 1975 Suntree Country Club is a private, member-owned country club built exclusively for the enjoyment, relaxation, and fellowship of its members, their families, and guests. The beautifully landscaped estate offers 36 holes of championship golf and a state-of-the-art short-game practice facility. Additionally, members enjoy a 13 court racquets complex that includes pickleball, and a beautiful pool with a poolside bar. Food service is handled through 2 large, multi-function clubhouses, multiple kitchens, bars, private meeting rooms and exercise facilities. ~ The schedule varies to the needs of the Club. Weekends and holidays are required. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Assist the Events Director with entertaining and ensuring the safety of our members and guest children. Responsible for the safety and welfare of the children. Interacts with the children during activities in a positive manner. Reports immediately on any incident involving children where the discipline might be involved to the Director of Activities. Assist Director of Events with setting up games, decoration (if necessary), crafts, etc. Assist Director of Events organize special events. Play games with children. Use playtime to teach social skills, encourage fairness and involve younger children in playtime. Ensure fair play; apply pool and camp rules consistently to all children. Time out is the best plan against undesirable behavior and must be enforced. Supervises children's play activities. Aggressive behavior, foul language, or jokes among campers and/or counselors is not to be tolerated. Courteous, polite behavior, and good manners are essential. Encourage and assist the children in cleaning up and putting away their projects for the day. Maintains a safe and clean facility. Leads children on-ground field trips and other activities. Performs all other duties assigned by the Director of Activities. Must comply with all rules and regulations as stated in the Employee Handbook. Assists with other duties as assigned by management. Must be able to stand, climb, stoop, bend, reach overhead and push and pull on a continuous basis. Must be willing to adhere to policies/procedures assigned by the safety committee. Must be willing to work with co-workers as a team. The schedule varies to the needs of the Club. Weekends and holidays are required. Current American Red Cross or Heart Association CPR certification, or willingness to complete certification. Able to maintain attention and high level of energy or excitement for extended periods of time. Must be able to spend time outdoors and tolerate a variety of weather conditions. Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, or squatting at eye level with children. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
