Description
We are expanding our Global Risk Management team and insurance program support for Amazon’s growing outsourced delivery operations. These are exciting, fast-paced, global roles that will imagine, develop, build, execute, and manage customized Middle Mile insurance programs for new program/country launches and existing programs.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Act as the insurance subject matter expert and advise internal teams on potential risks and coverage requirements for company initiatives
Understand insurance deeply, but you drive invention of programs that currently don’t exist.
Develop and execute strategic and tactical plans on new and expanding insurance programs for third party Middle Mile operations.
Own and drive awareness of total costs of managed programs including brokers, insurers, claims administration and loss costs.
Drive financial rigor and program transparency by implementing monthly and quarterly reports, enabling metrics-driven decisions.
Guide and support loss prevention initiatives to ensure an open, proactive, and effective safety culture and positive financial outcomes.
Develop insurance program options, proposals and recommendations for presentation to senior leadership.
Understand the complexities of local insurance regulations, but seek to invent global solutions where appropriate.
Comfortable knowing that these insurance programs may not fit the typical insurance mold, and you are motivated to find solutions that comply with local regulations and meet internal business customer needs.

Key job responsibilities
Understand trucking mileage reports and how premium are being calculated from mileage usage.
Navigate Microsoft Excel: produce formulas from sheet to sheet. This candidate will need to be well versed in all of the functionality of Excel and proficient in math.
Understand various trucking reports such as ISS score report.
Audit premium submissions by broker to ensure accuracy.
Track asset count as well as insurance spend for monthly reporting.
Track Amazon Freight Partners by domicile and state.
Work on delegated tasks such as the current Loss Control initiative.
Attend weekly calls with external and internal stakeholders to track relevant discussion topics.

Basic Qualifications
3+ years of product management experience
Experience managing technical products or online services
Experience in product, program, or project management in leading cross-functional teams in delivery of major new products or services
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of SQL and VBA at an advanced level
Experience building and analyzing cost/benefit scenarios and business cases and communicating results throughout the organization

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $93,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
