Physical Therapist

Episcopal Homes a non-profit senior living organization in the heart of St. Paul offering skilled nursing, transitional care, assisted and independent living has an exciting opportunity for a Physical Therapist to join our growing outpatient therapy team. This individual is responsible for providing physical therapy services to our campus seniors.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Full time - daytime hours.

Job Duties:

1. Utilizes problem solving, decision making methodology in evaluating, planning, communicating, directing and delivering patient care.
   1. Performs evaluations and discharges, determines appropriateness of treatment, clarifies orders as needed, and establishes PT plan of care.
   2. Provides direct PT services following standard procedures and safety precautions for the application and use of treatment modalities
   3. Provides training and education to patient, family and staff.
   4. Maintains required documentation
   5. Provides direction and supervision to Physical Therapist Assistants.
   6. Performs screenings and pursues physician orders when appropriate
   7. Provides reports and recommendations for patient care conferences, discharge meetings, etc.
   8. Obtains necessary authorization for PT services
2. Participates in the development, revision, and implementation of programming for the physical therapy department.
3. Participates in the development and presentation of in-service programs to rehab and interdisciplinary team
4. Contributes to the job performance evaluation process for PTAs
5. Maintains an effective working relationship with fellow employees.
6. Maintains the work area in a neat and orderly manner at all times.
7. Performs duties in a safe manner and observes approved safety procedures at all times.
8. Participates in educational programs in the interest of improving skills as required, and for professional growth and development.
9. Follows State and Federal regulations as they pertain to the practice of Physical Therapy.
10. May perform reasonable similar or related duties as assigned or instructed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate of a Physical Therapy Program

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in senior living: 1-2 years preferred
