Overview

2nd Shift Opening

Stryten Energy, manufactures proprietary and custom injection molding products serving the industrial lead battery, automotive and consumer markets. Stryten Energy is expanding battery poly manufacturing and recycling output to help solve industry-wide supply constraints.

The Lead Operator will coordinate the daily production efforts of the Production Employees on the shift assigned. The Lead Operator will coordinate with the Shift Supervisor to ensure operators are correctly performing their job duties including, but not limited to: maintaining and promoting Safety Adherence, following quality guidelines, following work instructions, maintaining 5s, properly reporting scrap and machine issues. The Lead Operator is responsible for the overall supervision of all employees on the shift. Lead the shift to maximize the output of quality products at minimum costs. Supervise all other plant departments when other Supervisors are not in the facility.

Responsibilities

    • Substitutes

    • (Hold, grind, etc.)
    • Projects
  • Communicate Press Priority
    • Prioritize tooling and mold changes by priority
    • Communicate know press issues with Shift Supervisor and Scheduler
    • Communicate know press issues with Maintenance and Tool Repair
    • Schedule repairs by Current Priority
  • Support / Insure compliance to Safety & Quality policy and requests by including , but not limited to: performing a schedule of Safety and Quality policy and requests by including, but not limited to: performing a schedule of Safety and Quality checks to be reviewed with Supervisor, communicate communications from Safety and Quality to insure Operator understanding.
  • Insure we are performing job duties as specified in plant guidelines, policies, procedures, and ISO documentation and report observations to Supervisor.
  • Observe the floor – Stay visible. Respond quickly to employees needing help, i.e. work cell rating, need for replacement PPE, re-training request, etc.). Insure work is being accomplished efficiently and with minimum of undue stress to employees.

  • Insure new employee trainees receive timely and accurate fulfillment of training requirements and coordinate ongoing substituting to insure adequate re-enforcement of previous training. Communicate with trainers to insure follow up on trainee progress/issues and report findings to Supervisor.
  • Monitor process times to insure Operators are meeting standards. Help to improve current standards particularly on processes that have a large human component.
  • Promote continuous improvement through proper channels to increase Operator and machine efficiencies.
  • Review and submit all required production reporting.
  • Monitor Scrap by Press
  • Monitor, collect and turn in manual count sheets at the end of shift.
  • Monitor, collect and turn in ROTO and FAB manual count sheets at the end of shift.
  • Communicate with Supervisor regularly to review floor status issues and commendations.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties assigned by Supervisor
  • Track daily attendance when Production Supervisor is not present.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, Certifications:

  • High school degree or equivalent preferred

Competencies, Skills, Knowledge:

  • Strong verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Serve as an advocate for employee and team engagement.
  • Servant leadership principle
  • Demonstrate independent thinking yet collaborate to achieve organizational goals.
  • Fluent in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook a plus
  • Prior supervising experience preferred
