Staff Accountant

About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks, including general ledger reconciliations, asset management, monthly sales tax processing, and more. You will also provide backup support for accounts payable and receivable functions.
Responsibilities:
- Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts at month end.
- Oversee assets; enter new acquisitions and handle dispositions, direct periodic asset inventory.
- Timely processing of monthly sales taxes .
- Preparation & reporting of daily sales .
- Record and reconcile intercompany transactions.
- Provide back-up to all activities related to the accounts payable function including reviewing, coding, and processing payments.
- Provide back-up to all account receivable functions including invoicing, deposits, collections, and revenue recognition .
- Update and maintain written documentation of current processes.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
- Strong computer skills and an understanding of operating systems
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to complete assigned duties and meet deadlines.
- Teamwork oriented
- Ethics, professionalism, and confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications:
- Manufacturing/Industrial accounting experience
- Dynamics 365 experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar accounting position
