ADP is hiring an IT Infrastructure Operations Support Technician

In this role, you will join our Infrastructure Incident Management team.  This SWAT team is an onsite 24/7/365 central point of contact, communication, and support for the technology and infrastructure at ADP. You will be a first responder focused on keeping our network, servers, operating systems, and applications running smoothly. You’ll play a central role in the health and stability of our infrastructure; this will include troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and coordinating efforts to resolve issues with our other support and engineering teams.

You will provide 1 st level response and resolution for critical hardware, software, and application events. You will perform troubleshooting, updates, and regular maintenance on Windows, Linux, and Unix physical and virtual environments. You will communicate directly with technology teams and business users regarding technology issues, outages, and downtime during planned maintenance. You will coordinate and communicate with external vendors and partners for support. You possess a demonstrated willingness to engage and escalate to the right people, at the right time. You will update and add documentation for support procedures and system information. You will actively seek and implement ways to improve the team’s processes, technical knowledge and relationships with other technology and business partners.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Here’s what you can expect on a typical day:

• Support & Problem-Solving. You may work on products currently in use. If so, you might act as a point of contact for one day/week, supporting your clients for any urgent issues that require resolution. You’ll start those days with your regular work activity but will have to switch gears to a support role as needed throughout your assigned support day.
• Continuous Learning. You will actively collaborate with other developers to share ideas or show what you’ve learned. You are eager to learn, keep up with ever-changing technologies, and maintain the ability to create the best tools for our clients.
• You have 2-5 years of experience in relevant skills gained and developed in the same or similar role.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:

• You’ll have a Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent
• A demonstrated understanding of network communication, current server technology and hardware
• Demonstrated experience, or knowledge, with general IT topics client/server, OS, Database, networking, security, and automation
• Knowledge and experience administrating and troubleshooting Windows & Linux servers
• Ability to simplify complicated technology
• Ability to perform and communicate well in high-pressure situations
• Flexibility to work any shift or day of the week, including holidays
• Establish and maintain excellent business relationships
• Must be Service and Client Driven
• Must be comfortable dealing with all levels of management
• Good technical understanding of all Hosted platforms
• Must be assertive in order to represent client’s best interest at all times
• Experience with troubleshooting server hardware components
• Experience using other synthetic and real-time monitoring tools (agent-based and agentless)
