Position Description:

The Department of Occupational and Environmental Health at the University of Iowa College of Public Health seeks applicants for a postdoctoral research scholar position. This candidate will be part of a collaborative team of international researchers examining environmental exposures and their impact on neurobehavioral and other health outcomes (e.g., adolescent brain development, ADHD).

This position provides opportunities for in-depth quantitative research. The candidate will assist with data analysis and manuscript preparation, including the analysis of longitudinal data examining pesticide exposure among a cohort of adolescents. They will support the implementation of an international study examining neurobehavioral outcomes and environmental and psychosocial exposures among a refugee population in Lebanon. They will have the opportunity to evaluate tools to assess neurobehavioral functioning and environmental exposures, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. They may also explore research in Iowa looking at US environmental exposures, including pesticides and health outcomes. In addition to these tasks, there will be day to day project coordination and the opportunity to work with graduate students.

This is an in-person position based in Iowa City, IA. The candidate will be mentored by Diane Rohlman, PhD. The start date is as soon as possible and the expected duration of the appointment is two years. Education Requirement:

PhD in Public Health or Related Field.

Required Qualifications:

Proficient in SAS or other analytical software package for data management, and statistical analysis graphics.

Experience working with environmental data including biomarker data, environmental samples, neurobehavioral data

Demonstrated ability to prepare manuscripts, reports, and other documents of a technical and scientific nature.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Eligible to work in the United States.

Desirable Qualifications:

Ability to analyze qualitative data using Dedoose (or another qualitative software) is desirable.

Supervisory experience is desirable.

Experience with grant writing is desirable.
