Then the Youth Program Manager position is for you! As the Youth Program Manager, you will provide leadership and support to Career Navigators, Job Developers and Career Counselors in all areas related to gaining and/or retaining employment and career advancement, while ensuring outstanding customer service to program participants. We are seeking a dynamic, team-oriented and caring individual to join our spirited team.
Successful Elements:
- Provide individualized assessment of work, family and personal development needs and opportunities
- Develop continuous improvement on process flows and program documentation to align with program development, as well as identify strategies for innovative services at PA CareerLink® Lancaster County
- Work with managerial and direct staff to ensure that customer flow, service delivery and data management are efficient and effective, and ensure compliance with Federal, state and local policies and procedures
- Travel within Lancaster County to conduct employer/worksite meetings, cultivate partner relationships, facilitate various participant and worksite evaluations, and conduct worksite inspections and visits as well as pick up time cards
- Build professional one-on-one working relationships with participants to assist in eliminating challenges that are hindrances to obtaining and retaining employment
- Provide referrals to appropriate community service or social service agencies when needed
- Provide guidance and support for Career Navigators, Job developers and Career Counselors to ensure positive outcomes and goals are met
- Create solutions to participant attendance problems
- Facilitate weekly meetings with the Career Navigators to ensure that the best practices are being used and to discuss improvements/goals
- Provide consistent and comprehensive case management and follow-up, ensuring that post-placement contacts are made as required by the contract
- Work with the leadership team on implementing processes that increase customer engagement
- Coordinate participant retention services and accommodate participant work schedules
- Provide new employee training for Career Navigators and Career Counselors
- Monitor staff performance and participate in staff reviews on a quarterly basis
- Assist in the preparation of project reports as needed
- May provide case management and follow up

Required Experience:
- Three to five years of professional experience of career counseling/customer service experience
- Ability to prioritize tasks and strong organizational skills
- Problem solving skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Demonstrated telephone, computer and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain flexibility as needs of contract or contractor require
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
- A valid driver's license & clean driving record required
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
