Overview
The Department of Surgery at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) in Lebanon, NH is searching for a BE/BC General Thoracic Surgeon. The ideal candidate's clinical skills should include minimally invasive thoracic surgical techniques, including robotics, as well as benign and malignant esophageal surgery. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, the physician will continue to develop the general thoracic surgical program. The successful candidate should have a commitment to research with the expectation of continuing their academic pursuits in collaboration with the team at the Dartmouth Cancer Center and the Geisel School of Medicine. In addition, this candidate will also participate in the education of medical students and general surgical house staff.
Overview: - Busy general thoracic surgery practice with an emphasis on Lung and Esophageal cancer, thymic tumors as well as advance benign esophageal surgery. We also support our Trauma Team for complex chest wall injuries, including rib plating.
- No transplant requirements
- Call 1:4 (no trauma call)
- Highly collaborative team including a PA/NP team that supports our inpatients, OR cases (including robotics) and clinics.
- Faculty appointment at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College to be requested, commensurate with experience
- Potential for protected research time
- Multi-disciplinary treatment of all thoracic malignancy with multiple ongoing clinical trials
- Training of General Surgery Residents and Medical Students
Requirements: - BC/BE in Thoracic Surgery
- Advanced robotic skills
- Commitment to research, including translational, QA/QI, health care disparities or outcomes research
- Ability to obtain and maintain NH medical license
