Responsibilities: - Provide psychiatric diagnostic assessments and medication management utilizing care consistent with accepted professional standards, including evaluations, treatment, prescribing, referral, and related documentation.
- Collaborate with other team members in providing care.
- May assist in training experiences of rotating students (PAs, NPs or medical students).
- May provide supervision or collaborative agreements with physician assistants and nurse practitioners.
- Attend and participate in clinical staff meetings and consultations.
Required Skills and Abilities: - Prior experience managing psychiatric clients, treatments, and medication.
- Ability to independently provide psychiatric care in an outpatient setting.
- Strong clinical skills in diagnosing and treating a diverse range of mental health conditions, and within diverse populations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach.
- Proficient in the use of computers; experience with Electronic Health Records.
- Knowledge of HIPAA, regulatory standards, and best practices.
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
- Empathetic to client needs and concerns.
Education/Licensing Requirements: - Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited college or university.
- Experience in Adult Psychiatry, Child Psychiatry or Geriatric Psychiatry, board certification in Psychiatry preferred.
- Federal DEA license.
- Current active and unrestricted State of Minnesota medical license, with no pending actions by the boards in any state.
- Currently credentialed with insurance, or willing to become credentialed.
