CASHIER (TPT) Location Allentown, PA (Mountainville area) : 911-011 - CASHIER (TPT) Opens 01/17/2024 Closes 07/31/2024 Starts Salary $0.00 - $0.00 Class Title: SUMMER CASHIER (POOLS AND CONCESSIONS) Pay Range: $15.00 per hour Department: Department of Parks & Recreation - Bureau of Recreation Union: N/A GENERAL PURPOSE Provide information, goods and services through admission sales at City of Allentown pool/spray park facilities and concessions. SUPERVISION RECEIVED Works under the supervision of the Aquatics Manager, Pool Manager, and Head Lifeguard and Concessions Manager SUPERVISION EXERCISED None ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES " Handle all money and sale product " Record all sales on the cash register and inventory product " Monitor bathhouse entrance area of all patrons " Notify Pool Manager, Head Lifeguard or Concessions Manager when money/supplies/inventory are needed " Complete all daily opening and closing procedures as assigned by pool supervisors/ concession manager " Maintain order in the entrance counter area " Keep an accurate daily count of wristband distribution and inventory of product sold " Enforce all facility policies/rules/regulations " As a cashier you must be aware of proper money handling policies and procedures " As a snack bar cashier you must be aware of proper food handling policies and procedures " Attendance at work is an essential function of this position " Performs related work as may be required " Provide quality and effective customer service with courtesy and understanding to our customers, citizens and internal departments CLEANING DUTIES It is important to keep the concessions facilities, pools, spray parks and bathhouses well-maintained. Considering our pools are all outside pools, our job becomes a little more challenging. Several things will help to keep the pools clean. You will be assigned a task to complete from the pool supervisors or concessions manager, which may include but are not limited to sweeping, bathroom cleaning, sanitation of equipment and changing garbage. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: (A) High school education preferred. (B) Experience preferred. Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: A. Knowledge of cash handling procedures. B. Ability to exercise tact and judgment in maintaining good customer service relations C. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the community, and to effectively interpret the objectives of the recreation program to participants and the community group.
